Capcom's 35th Anniversary Announcement: New Trailers, Plus Mysterious New Character Revealed

Capcom's mysterious countdown has been revealed, and while it may be disappointing to some, fighting fans have a lot to look forward to!

Celebrating 35 years of Capcom Fighting games, first up we have a ten game collection dubbed the Capcom Fighting Collection.

The 10 games featured are:

Cyberbots: Fullmetal Madness
Darkstalkers: The Night Warriors
Night Warriors: Darkstalkers Revenge
Vampire Hunter 2: Darkstalkers Revenge
Hyper Street Fighter 2: The Anniversary Edition
Red Earth
Super Gem Fighter Mini Mix
Super Puzzle Fighter 2 Turbo
Vampire Saviour: The Lord of Vampire
Vampire Saviour 2: The Lord of Vampire

Next up we have the main announcement - Street Fighter 6.

It seems Capcom are going with a more realistic approach this time around, and while I'm a major Tekken fan, I've always had a soft spot for the Street Fighter series, with Street Fighter 2 being the very first game I ever completed (way back in the SNES days). I'm also really interested to see more of this mysterious new fighter, and after doing some digging, he's a series newcomer and goes by the name of Luke. Check out his reveal trailer for Street Fighter V: Champion Edition below.

Luke gives me some serious Steve Fox vibes and I'm loving the over the top voice acting for him. His moveset looks utterly devastating and I can see him quickly becoming a favourite among fans. It's always good to shake the fighting world up with some new contenders, and for me, he's the one to watch.

So, what can we expect next from Capcom? Well, Resident Evil 4's remake for one, but I'd also love to see a remake of Dino Crisis in the style of the Resident Evil 2/3 remakes, plus the return of Onimusha and a sequel to the excellent Devil May Cry 5 - If you've still not had the chance to play DMC5, you can check out my review here.

That's it from Capcom for now, but if you've got something to say, let us know in the comments below or hit me up on twitter @CaptainCortez.
